Today is Unwashed Denim’s one-year anniversary! First, a huge thank you to everyone who has in any way supported the brand or been a part of Unwashed Denim’s story over the past year. It’s been extremely fun and rewarding and I can’t wait for the next one.
To celebrate and do something special, I collaborated with an extremely talented metalsmith, Michael Studebaker, to design these hand-forged brass cuffs. Each piece is individually hammered from a solid piece of brass in Michael’s studio. I wanted to design something that fits in with Unwashed Denim’s overall aesthetic, so Michael and I decided to leave the cuffs in a “raw” form and refrain from polishing or applying a protective coat to finish them. As a result, the cuff will tarnish and patina over time, just like your favorite raw denim and leather goods.
On the inside of the cuff, one side is branded “UWD,” while the other side has Michael’s maker’s stamp, “Studebaker.”
